Aspen Sports Medicine will be providing First Aid Treatment, Physical Therapy and Chiropractic Services at the 46th Aspen Ruggerfest, September 12-15, 2013.  Aspen Sports Medicine has been participating in Ruggerfest for the past 9 years and is excited to help out those crazy ruggers once again.  They will be located on the Eric’s Bar side of the field and will be there from Thursday morning until the finals on Sunday.  There will be a few tents set up and will provide treatments and taping.  If additional treatments are necessary, they can be arranged at treated Aspen Sports Medicine on Hyman Street for a small fee.  Please contact Purvi if you have any questions at 970-274-6568 or, please put subject line as Ruggerfest Treatment or Injury.

Aspen Sports Chiropractic P.C., received his chiropractic degree from Palmer West College of Chiropractic and is a diplomat of the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture. His emphasis is in sports orthopedic chiropractic, with specialties in neck and back care and rehabilitation, ART (Active Release Techniques), Graston Technique, acupuncture, Dry Needle Technique, IMT (Intramuscular Dry Needle Technique), custom orthotics, gait analysis, biomechanical evaluations, SFMA Certified (Selective Functional Movement Assessment), TPI Certified, lower and upper extremity injuries. During his 15 years treating sports injuries in the Aspen area, he has also been on medical staff of sporting events such as The National Sevens Rugby Tournament for Aspen Gentlemen Sevens, Medical Sponsor for Aspen Santa Fe Ballet Company, Team Doctor for the Gentlemen of Aspen Sevens and Fifteens Rugby Teams, High Altitude Running Camps, National High School Running Camps at Crested Butte Team Elite Academy, 2002 Subaru Primal Quest Adventure Race, Telluride, CO., A.R.T. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and calling Vancouver, British Columbia home, Purvi completed her training at The University of Manchester , England.  Graduating with an Honors degree in Physiotherapy in 2001 she has been immersed in the field of Rugby anything for the last 6 years. Currently she is working at Apex Physical Therapy in Denver and has been the Physical Therapist for the Denver Barbarians Rugby Club for the past 3 years.  Purvi has completed all levels of Intramuscular Manual Therapy/trigger point dry needling in April 2010.  Her training also encompasses the Functional Movement Screen certifications and the Selective Functional Movement Assessment certifications.  In the past she also has been the physical therapist for the Gentlemen of Aspen Rugby Club, Misfits Rugby Club and the USA Classic Eagles Rugby Team. Her specialties include orthopedics, manual therapy, and sports conditioning as well as advanced first aid and emergent care on the field.
