ASPEN RUGGERFEST

Every year, Aspen plays host to one of North America’s greatest amateur 15s tournaments. Ruggerfest, which is held on the third weekend of every September, takes place in a setting like no other. On Wagner Park with Aspen Mountain as the backdrop, our little town becomes a rugby haven for a week and huge numbers turn out to witness a sport that has held its place in Aspen for decades. There’s nothing quite like playing rugby all day in downtown Aspen as the fall colors change right before your eyes. Now, as we are approaching the 55th edition of Ruggerfest, the tournament has become a staple amongst the American rugby community and often attracts international teams and players. The standard of play and party is one of the highest across any tournament in the United States.

With five or more men’s and women’s brackets across four days every year, Ruggerfest is something that anyone can enjoy on and off the field. From Thursday morning to Sunday evening, rugby is non-stop throughout the town. The fun kicks off early with our over 55s category starting us off on Thursday and our 40s and 50s brackets commencing on Friday. Saturday sees our Open men’s and women’s brackets. All finals are held on the Sunday, with fans gathering en masse to support. Off-field antics are also at a high level with vendors, bars, commentary, and more to bring the atmosphere. Come see why Ruggerfest is the classic Colorado rugby tournament!

If you are interested in bringing a team (or multiple) to Ruggerfest or even if you just want to come to immerse yourself in the atmosphere, we’re happy to help any way we can.
